Back Of Head To Eye
The distance from the back of the head to the eyes.
BackOfHeadToEye
How to measure
Application
Used in helmet and headgear internal design to position visors, eye shields, and padding relative to the rear of the head.
Posture
Head level, looking straight ahead.
Landmark
Measured horizontally from the outer corner of the eye to the most rearward point of the skull at the same height.
Tool
Tape measure or spreading caliper.
Assistance
A second person should locate the rearmost skull point and hold the tape end in place.
Common mistake
The rearmost point of the skull is further back than expected. Run a hand along the back of the head to locate the true maximum before measuring.
API example
Request a predicted value for a 34-year-old woman at the 50th percentile in the United States. Adjust age, percentile, gender, and country to match your design scenario.
