Application

Landmark
Measured vertically from the outer corner of the eye to the scalp directly above it.
Tool
Rigid ruler or tape measure.
Clothing
Part the hair directly above the eye to measure to the scalp surface, not the hair surface.
Common mistake
Measuring to the top of the hair rather than the scalp overestimates the result.
