Head To Glabella

The distance from the head to the glabella.

HeadToGlabella

How to measure

Application

Used in eyewear and helmet design to determine forehead protrusion relative to the brow ridge, informing visor and lens clearance.

Posture

Head level, looking straight ahead.

Landmark

The glabella is the smooth flat area directly between the eyebrows. Measured from the glabella to the most forward point of the forehead in profile.

Tool

Rigid ruler or spreading caliper.

Common mistake

The glabella typically sits slightly recessed from the forehead above it. Treat these as two distinct points and do not assume they are at the same depth.

API example

Request a predicted value for a 34-year-old woman at the 50th percentile in the United States. Adjust age, percentile, gender, and country to match your design scenario.
