Seat Height
The height from the floor to the sitting surface.
SeatHeight
How to measure
Application
Used in ergonomic assessment to determine whether a chair places the user at the correct working height relative to their desk or work surface.
Posture
Stand upright next to the seat surface being measured.
Landmark
Measured from the floor to the top of the uncompressed seat surface.
Tool
Tape measure or rigid ruler.
Common mistake
Measure to the seat surface itself. Cushions compress under load and will give an inaccurate working height if measured instead.
API example
