Shoulder Height

The height from the floor to the shoulders while standing.

ShoulderHeight

How to measure

Application

Used in workspace overhead reach design, clothing shoulder seam placement, and safety equipment sizing.

Posture

Stand upright with shoulders relaxed, arms hanging naturally at the sides.

Landmark

Measured from the floor to the bony tip of the shoulder (acromion process).

Tool

Tape measure fixed vertically to a wall.

Assistance

A second person should locate the acromion and mark it before measuring.

Common mistake

Raising or tensing the shoulders inflates the result. Keep them fully relaxed.
